Letter from RH Trustees

11 Dec 2012

Dear Friends,

I am writing on behalf of the Trustees to inform you of recent significant changes at Rutherford House. The office has moved from Hill Street to very suitable accommodation at Palmerston Place Church. Our recent director, Dr. Jason Curtis has accepted a call from a church in Portland, Oregon to be their Senior Pastor. We are very grateful for his ministry and gracious leadership over recent years at Rutherford House; this new position matches his gifting perfectly and we pray that God will richly bless Jason and his family in this new period of service. We have also bid farewell to our office staff Rachel Ehorn and Marian Paluchowski and are thankful for their dedicated contribution to the work of the House.

We are sad to report that the present Chairman of the Trustees, Nigel Barge, is unwell. Although he is making excellent progress he will not be able to participate in the oversight of the House at present. Andrew Mc Gowan has agreed to act as chairman until Nigel returns.

The Trustees remain committed to foster clear Biblical thinking throughout the church in Scotland. They have recently clarified and simplified the vision in this way: ‘The purpose of Rutherford House is to help people to think biblically and theologically.’

This vision will be delivered by dissemination of material such as “Hearing the Word” to encourage personal study of the Scriptures. Training events for church leaders will continue to be developed and the biennial Dogmatics Conference remains a significant international academic meeting. Over the coming months the Trustees will carefully appraise opportunities to advance this fundamental vision for the House. We remain grateful to many volunteers who continue to serve faithfully in the operations of Rutherford House.

Please note our new contact details. We ask you to do two practical things. First, please pray for the vision and work of Rutherford House in Scotland. Secondly, you will appreciate the considerable increased costs of using the postal service for disseminating information about the House. If you wish to continue to receive information about the work of Rutherford House if you use e-mail, please would you consider sending us your e-mail details to ku.gro.esuohdrofrehturnull@ofni?

Thank you for your partnership in the work of Rutherford House.

Yours sincerely,

Rev Alistair Donald, Secretary to the Trustees
