Probationers Gathering

6th - 8th September 2010

" I think this timeout should be required for all Probationers and their Spouses"

"It has been too quick. It has been fantastic, extremely worthwhile and very enjoyable"

Recent feedback has encouraged us to continue and develop the Probationers and Spouses gatherings at Crieff Hydro. The idea for the gatherings originated some years ago at Carberry Tower.

Rutherford House is now taking the idea forward again and inviting  ministers and their spouses to the third gathering in the delightful surroundings of Crieff Hydro Hotel. The aim is very simple – to prepare ministers and their spouses, together, for the challenges of parish ministry.

Some Objectives:

Recreation and enjoyment together

A forum for sharing hopes, concerns and fears

Strengthening of relationships for some of the stresses and demands to come.

Some topics covered

"Knowing your strengths and weaknesses and that you don't need to be somebody you are not"

"Keeping Ministry monsters like workaholism at bay"

"Preparing for the unexpected challenges, demands and crises of manse life"

"Looking forward with hope and expectation to a glorious adventure"

Numbers are restricted – please register as soon as possible. With confirmation you will receive details of a grant of £80 available from Rutherford House and details of accommodation at Crieff which you are asked to book directly through their sales department.

The facilitators are

Rev Neil and Dorothy Urquhart – Fullarton Church,  Irvine,  Ayrshire

Rev Terry and Graham Taylor – Broxburn Church, Broxburn, West Lothian
